Stomp Xtra

Stomp® Xtra Herbicide is a selective pre-emergent herbicide for the control of most annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds. Offering unmatched control of Crowsfoot, Summer grass and winter grass in various turf situations, Stomp Xtra is essential for inclusion in your weed control program.

Stomp® Xtra is an advanced, low-staining formulation of pendimethalin, a well-established and widely used pre-emergent herbicide. With less volatility and a higher concentration than the original herbicide, Stomp Xtra is one of the most efficient and convenient formulations available.

Stomp Xtra controls weeds by inhibiting seedling development; it will not control established weeds. For best results, seedbeds should be free of weeds, trash and clods at the time of application.

Following application of STOMP XTRA to the soil and its absorption by the plant, both root and shoot growth are inhibited in susceptible plants. Affected plants die shortly after germination or following emergence from the soil.

Application Timing, Special Instructions and Rates:  

  • Prepare the seedbed with a fine, firm tilth free of ridges, clods or trash. The seed should be sown so that after consolidation it is covered by a minimum of 15 mm of settled soil for onions. Do NOT disturb the soil by rolling or harrowing after STOMP XTRA has been applied.
  • Fill the spray tank to one quarter capacity with water with the agitation system operating. If required, add a tank mix partner at this stage and mix thoroughly. Fill the spray tank to one half capacity and add the required amount of STOMP XTRA and the rest of the water, mixing thoroughly. Agitation is required during spraying and after a stoppage.
  • Use a conventional sprayer with either mechanical or bypass agitation. Apply the recommended amount of STOMP XTRA herbicide in sufficient water to ensure accurate cover. This should be from 150-400 litres of water per hectare.
  • Under prolonged dry conditions or prolonged cold wet conditions certain crops are susceptible to injury when planted in soil previously treated with STOMP XTRA. Do not plant sensitive grasses (such as ryegrass), cucurbits or beets for at least 6 months following STOMP XTRA application.
